Background and qualifications Larry Walker served on two warships (July, 1969 -- May, 1973), eight towing vessels and owned nine power and sail vessels. He holds a Master of Oceans license endorsed for Commercial Assistant Towing, Auxiliary Sail and Radar Observer Unlimited, and a Merchant Mariner's Document endorsed for Able Seaman Unlimited, Lifeboatman and STCW-95 and an FCC Radio Operators Permit. Captain Walker holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Kean College of New Jersey and an MBA in Marketing from Rutgers University Graduate School of Business Administration. Larry Walker is an adjunct faculty member of the Pamlico Community College Business Department and has been an instructor for the Institute of Marine Safety, ProCAPTAINS U.S.C.G. Licensing Seminars, and is an American Red Cross First Aid Instructor. We train active duty USN Sailors, active duty US Marines, civilian employees of the USN and USMC, employees of the Army Corps of Engineers, employees of the NC Ferry System and employees of the YMCA sailing camps in NC and Virginia. Captain Walker has cruised the Puget Sound, Pacific Ocean, US West Coast, Panama Canal, Caribbean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, US East Coast, Cuba, US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Mediterranean Sea, Hudson River, East River, Long Island Sound, Block Island Sound, US East Coast Intra-Coastal Waterway, Moon River, Gulf of Mexico, Okeechobee Waterway, Tenn-Tom Waterway, Ohio River, Tennessee River, Mississippi River, Missouri River, Illinois River, Chicago River, all five Great Lakes (Canadian & US waters), Erie Canal, Bahamas and Bermuda.
